I lost our grandmother today, she fought very hard against Dementia.
And her last few weeks were nothing short of pure agony.
We’re glad that she’s at peace now. Seeing her suffer in the hospital had an immense impact on all of us and we decided to keep it very private.
She will be buried later today, with remembrance of a hard-working and absolute stone of a woman who wouldn’t compromise for anything but the best for her children
I’m just hoping for some peace and quiet and use this time to pay my respects to a great lady who worked twice as hard to raise my father. She had very little money and almost no direct source of income.
But she made sure her children would grow up to have a better future. I owe all my success to her hard work and true love for her kids to have a better life.
Never be ungrateful for what you have today, there’s so much we all have to be grateful for in life. It is only in these moments that we realise how much someone gave up so selflessly for us to have a better life and how ungrateful we might have been in showing respect to those who gave up selflessly to others.
It is also in this moment today that I’d like to show respect to my parents who stopped at nothing to give me a better life than they did.
My loving father who studied under street lights at night and worked during the day; to save a few cents worth of Electricity.
A father who walked to university instead of taking the bus, so that one day he could put those 50 cents towards a better education for his children.
I thank all my readers for taking the time to read this and I hope that you too will realise and be grateful for what you have; what the world has offered you, and most importantly the sacrifices made by others for you to be where you are today.
Never take anything for granted.
