I don’t doubt that you have bad intentions, us as children don’t realise why parents do the things that they do; a bit of failure to communicate and finding reason. I do certainly believe, in hindsight, that my childhood contributed to shaping me into better character; no matter how seemingly cruel it might have seemed at the time.
It’s important to understand these things and be aware of them, in my case — being sent away felt like rejection, but in reality it was their way of making sure I had access to a more disciplined education.
I’m grateful for it now that I am older and can relate, things just don’t make sense; but with time we can look back realise, put the pieces together to form reason.
